Anna Vicherek
More than decade ago Anna came from the Czech Republic, where, after completing her University studies in 1966, she enjoyed the experience of teaching children at several creative art centres, including the Fine Art School at Havirov. While working with these young minds, she discovered the beauty of a child's view of reality, spontaneity, ability to simplify and express feelings, a good sense of balance, as well as a sense for the rhythm of lines and colours. This, along with her appreciation for the beauty of nature's shapes and colours, has had a profound influence on her own creativity. As a result, her artwork spans a wide spectrum of creative expression, though her primary focus in the recent years has been mixed media abstract composition using ink, pastels and watercolours. She is also known for her small clay objects, such as wall plaques and jewellery in her favourite style - RAKU.
