ARTICO - Artists-in-Connection - is an artist run volunteer networking organization reuniting Czech and Slovak artists and their artistic friends living in Canada.

Who is Artico
ARTICO - Artists-in-Connection - is a networking artist group reuniting Czech, Slovak and Canadian artists living in Toronto. The monthly gatherings include artists specializing in various styles and working with all mediums. The group attracts both professional and emerging artists of various ages and backgrounds.

In 2007-2008 ARTICO exhibited monthly at the RIVOLI gallery-lounge with fantastic openings connected with music organized by HOT - Hearts Open Toronto. Moving forward the group will exhibit in various locations in an around the Toronto area.

ARTICO was founded in December 2007 by artists Pavla Quinn, Charlene Chartrand and Veronika Roux-Vlachova in conjunction with Zuzana Hahn who represents HOT - Hearts Open Toronto - music shows.

Our Goal
ARTICO’s goal is to bring artists to light. ARTICO networking meetings are schedules once a month in various creative Toronto venues. Artists talk about their art life, upcoming exhibitions and explore ARTICO group shows possibilities. The meetings serve to reunite people sharing the same passion and to work towards displaying beautiful art to everyone.

Our next steps
ARTICOs next steps is to further connect artists with other artists. We strive to create an atmosphere where people can work together as one mind with lost of great ideas and knowledge shared among artists. We will continue to spread the ARTICO word and expand its resources for its artists in different areas. Together we have lots of possibilities to be artist who can create anything ,especially if is done from spirit .

December 14th, 2008 is the opening reception for Artico's group exhibition at the Rivoli, featuring works from Pavla, Charlene, Vera, Pavel, Dana, Jenny and many more. The opening reception will also feature music by Snappy Catchphrases.
The exhibition runs from December 7th, 2008 - January 11th, 2009. The Rivoli is located at 334 Queen Street West in Toronto.

Each year the artisans and craftspeople of this turn-of-the-century

November 9th is the opening reception for Artico artist Pavel Charo's ""Expressions"" exhibition at the Rivoli
The exhibition runs from November 9th - December 7th, 2008. The Rivoli is located at 334 Queen Street West in Toronto.

""Time to Think"" is Pavla Quinn's upcoming exhibition at the Cedar Ridge Studio Gallery. The opening reception will take place on Sunday September 28th at 1pm.
The exhibition runs from September 28th until October 3rd in the living room. The Cedar Ridge Studio Gallery is located at 225 Conferderation Drive, east Toronto.

September 14th is the opening reception for Artico artists Niki Tichakova's and Alena Poupa's ""Kaleidoscope"" exhibition at the Rivoli

""After All' is Josef Kursky's and Jana Cerna-Bachtik's upcoming exhibition at The Laurier Gallery. The opening reception is Saturday September 27th from 6-10pm

September 12th is the opening exhibition at Gallery 38 at 888 for their annual exhibition by Cafe Society of Artists, artist Marina Hanacek will take part in the group show

Wednesday July 30th at 7pm is the opening reception at the Gallery Launch for the ""Bodyworks"" exhibition, a group exhibition featuring Artico artist Pavel Charousek.
The exhibition runs from July 29th until September 5th, 2008. Gallery Launch is located at 500 Church street in Toronto. The exhibition will feature Figural works exploring the distinctive elements of the human physique beyond portraiture capturing the essence of the human spirit.

Friday August 8th from 7-9pm is the opening reception for Artico artist Marissa Sweet's exhibition ""Chi Energy life"" at the Mcleans Community Centre
The Mcleans Community Center is located at 95 McGill drive in Ajax, Ontario. The show runs until September 8th, 2008. For more information on Marissa Sweet's art vist www.taopad.com

Saturday July 19th is the first annual artist meeting in Pavla's Garden and Forest. All Artico artists are to attend this potluck event which begins at 2pm. At 5pm music by Ian Hahn will be provided. For details and directions, contact Pavla at artico.pavla@gmail.com

Sunday July 13th at 7pm is the opening reception for Artico artists Sian Gordon and Laura Minkensky at the Rivoli. The joint exhibit features Sian's exhibition ""Weather Permitting"" and Laura's exhibition ""Vertical Horizons"". A musical performance by Ian Hanh will accompany the opening.

Saturday June 14th, 2008 is the opening of Pavel Charousek's exhibition at Burdett Gallery featuring new sculptures and fine art prints
The opening reception will be held from 4-6pm on June 14th.

May 22nd is the opening of The Gallery Wall a new gallery and store located in Scarborough
To celebrate the opening of the store and the beginning of an exhibition by artist Maurice Snelgrove, an opening reception will take place from 7-10pm. The Gallery Wall is located at 3083 Kingston Road, Scarborough.

April 23rd is the opening nigh at the Kohl Gallery for ""Seeing Trees"" an exhibition featuring some of Charlene Chartrand's work.
The show runs from April 24th until May 3rd. The Kohl Gallery is located at 282 Eglington Avenue West.

On May 10th is the opening for Marina Hanacek's new exhibition at the Rivoli
The show runs until the beginning of June.

On May 8th Artico Artists Pavel Charousek, Vera Siffner and Pavla Quinn present the show P.V.P at the Jacob Gallery located at 388 Richmond street corner of Spadina in Toronto.
The opening night starts at 6pm and will feature live music from 7-8pm. The show will run from May 8th to the 18th and is sponsored by TV NOVA VIZE, PRAGUE EMPORIUM, NOVY DOMOV, AMBIANCE CHOCOLAT, TORONTO.CA
