Aurora King

The creative process has been, for me, a journey of self discovery, in which I am deeply immersed. Influenced by the hidden beauty of that which is considered ordinary, my creations embody all that I am and all that captivates my attention. The human figure has been a central element to my drawings and sculptures. Recently, my interest has diversified into photography, where I express a need to reveal the natural beauty in all of earth’s forms.
Emotion is an element of great significance in my work and the reasoning behind my use of light and shadow. It is the foundation of my desire to combine a sense of allure and mystery, and to offer leeway to the imagination. Also of importance are the compositional and elementary aspects, for they possess the capability to alter perspectives into the simplicity and beauty of the skin around the knee or the veins of a leaf.
I journey forth with a willingness to learn so that I may continue to evolve as a creative individual in the arts, understanding that in order to do so I must embrace my creativeness and potentials to their fullest.
