Belinda Da Fonseca

My name is Belinda Da Fonseca. I was born an raised in South Africa. I currently reside in the Western Cape, South Africa with my husband and 3 beautiful children.
I studied Fine Art for 4 years and majored in drawing, photography and printmaking. My first year involved Graphic design and fine art. The next three years I branched out in Fine Art studies. I obtained Distinctions for all my practical subjects in my final exhibitions. After my fine art studies, I completed a post graduate diploma in Digital media and design.

I have worked on many private commissions over the years, but until now I have not tried to pursue my Fine Art career yet. This is going to be my focus this year and I am in the process of setting up a studio. I would like to give some art classes too, when the time is right.
Mostly in my work I am influenced by great photography. I love the past and I love old objects, photo's, instruments. Anything with a little history to it fascinates me. I also love to paint eyes, because eyes tell a story about the model and it is usually the part of my work that makes the artwork come to life. I tend to spend many hours on the eyes in a portrait.
I would love to have new challenges and opportunities to work on my artwork this year and well into my future.
