What Is Art?
I'll tell you what art "is", to me. To me, Art is something that makes you feel or think. It doesn't have to be incredibly expressive, and it doesn't have to be so modern that it's just a block, Art, to me, just has to make me think. Therefore, with that said, Art is everything! A tree, a painting, a curtain, a person. Everything. However, I believe there are different levels to Art, building/creating a Spectrum of Art, a personal and individual spectrum, specific, original, and unique to each person, a snow flake. If you don't like a work of Art, it is not BAD, Art is never BAD, it's just on a different level of the Spectrum that is hard for you to appreciate. However, regardless, it DOES make you feel. It makes you think. For example, you may feel angry that that work of Art was created and being hung in the Museum of Modern Art, you think about the artist themselves. I find it amazing when a person experiences anger or frustration over a work of Art, to think that a human being could become so upset at canvas or sculpture or anything else. Who knows, maybe it was the artist's intention to make people angry. How intriguing.
