Eric Lotz

Interested in art since childhood, Eric grew up in the creative environment of living with a father who was a leading advertising photographer in Montreal, as well as having a mother who modeled, wrote poetry, and worked professionally as an actor. As a schoolboy, Eric earned income in his free time as a professional illustrator of architecture, drawing the homes of his clients, this work done in Victoria, B.C. In this period his work was selected for exhibition at the Victoria Art Gallery. An artist who works in mixed media, Eric is at home with pastels, oils, plastic, and other metals including bronze, as well as drills, saws, and other tools of wood sculpture. His formal training was gained as a student of The Ontario College of Art and Design. To supplement his income in fine art, Eric has become active in commercial advertising and is presently working freelance throughout the Toronto area. Ever striving to grow and evolve in his artistic journey, Eric is always seeking a new view, a new approach.
