I was born in 1967 in Germany.
At the age of 13, I emigrated to South America with my family.
After two years I moved on to South Africa, where I lived in Gauteng, Durban and finally Knysna, where I have been for the past 11 years.
I started painting in 2001 after trying my hand at a variety of occupations.
I am self taught by choice.
I believe one must find oneself in life. No one can teach you how to be yourself.
In the same way,I believe that one must find one's own Art,no one can teach you how to express yourself. In life we are often taught how to hide our true selves,in favour of a socially acceptable facade. When I work, my aim is to bridge the gap between the socially acceptable and the true self, without compromising my integrity.
Art equals Truth to me and even though an artwork may not always be pretty or correct,it is always truthful and it always represents an aspect of being.
I thoroughly enjoy my work, because it gives me the opportunity to meet myself and others in Truth and it allows me to be honest about who I am, in a way that doesn't offend any one.
I have exhibited my work in and around Knysna and Cape Town and also in my own Gallery in Knysna. I have sold works to clients in Germany, England, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland, South Africa and two of my paintings are part of the private collection at Pezula Hotel and Golf Estate.
I am hoping to retreat to the Peruvian jungle, for three months in July 2008,to find a fresh and exciting new perspective to express from.
I am available to do commissions.
