Maria Bejmowicz-Szemplinska has a Professional Photography
Certificate from Sheridan College in Oakville, ON.
She had her solo exhibit picturing people at Mississauga Arts
Center and has shown her work in many group exhibits
in Greater Toronto. Maria often participates in contests,
winning them from time to time. Her photography was
published in "Photo Life", "Macleans", "Soaring" Magazine,
"Free Flight" Magazine, some regional and local newspapers,
and brochures. She produced a calendar with her photographs about
the sport of soaring and 3 photo DVDs from
soaring contests.
Marias favourite style is photojournalism and documentary, but
she is interested in landscape, fashion, and art photography
as well. Her main subjects are people. She shows them mostly
in classical portraits, environmental portraits, at all lifes
actions, catching them in their most revealing moments.
Her peoples photography is a true and honest depiction of
their feelings and thoughts. Their very humanity is seen in
their gestures and facial expressions, in their unforgettable
eyes. In contrast, Marias fashion and art photography likes
the mystery and fantasy and often includes some intriguing
signs and symbols, giving the viewer a chance for their own
interpretation of her visual ideas. Richness of colours and
patterns she uses helps to make a lasting visual impact
on the viewer.
