ARTIST STATEMENT
I have been an artist all my life, though I never really acknowledged it till quite recently. I began drawing on the walls at the age of 2. Though all of my teachers have tried to discourage my creativity because I don't follow any rules, I just create. Beginning in kindergarten I was told to stop drawing so many rainbows! In university I was dismissed for doing life drawings in un-life like colors. But, I have persevered, namely because creating art makes me feel alive and amazing.
I used to write my own zine and have had a show of my paintings at Insomnia in Toronto,and was part of a show at Praxis Gallery, also in Toronto, Canada.
I have been working with acrylics for the past 10 years. I enjoy this medium because it is very similar to watercolor only it allows for much more texture, and light.
